Princess Birthday Party Ideas
Throw a birthday party for your daughter which she will always remember!
Your daughter is still at an age where she finds fairy tales exciting and adores princesses and queens. So for her next birthday party, you will have your job cut out to throw her a Princess-themed party.
Planning a Princess-themed birthday party is simple but extensive work. You will need to start planning and getting things ready at least a week in advance. Plus, if you want to keep it a secret from your daughter, you might have to get everything ready when she’s not looking. Store her presents and party favours away from sight so she can’t get at them.
On the day of the party, send her to her friend’s house for about two hours while you get the house ready. Get her back just before the party to dress up and enjoy the effort you’ve put in for her.
– Classy invitation cards. Send out beautiful invitation cards with a picture of a princess and her castle on the front. Mention that guests will have dress codes for their clothes – pink dresses for the girls, blue suits for the boys – and the time of their arrival.
– Your daughter’s outfit. Take care to get a classy Princess gown for your daughter. Make sure it is in a colour of her choice, but preferably in white, blue or silver, so that her dress will stand out. She will need a tiara, a necklace, heeled shoes, stockings and arm gloves. Match the accessories with the dress.
– Princess set. Clear a space in your front or back yard, or in your living room, for a Princess set. You will need a moat-like entry for the guests, turrets, forests and a court for your Princess. Have her seated on her special little throne to receive her guests and the presents they bring. Coach her to be gracious, smile and thank her guests when they give her presents, and to thank them for coming to her party as they leave.
– The food. You will need a lavish birthday cake fit for a princess, with a princess figurine on top. The cake should at least be two-tiered and lavishly frosted in white and blue. Cut up generous slices for each guest and have your daughter hand out the cake herself. For other snacks, try cookies, crisps and fruit juice.
– Games. Your daughter and her little guests will soon get bored and will want to play games. Devise clever games to keep them interested, or have them run around in the backyard to let off some steam. Then get them all in while your princess opens her presents and thanks everybody.
– Party favours. Set a table aside especially to keep goodie bags for guests. Extend the princess theme to the party favours as well – a cup with a princess on it, a notebook and pencil set, a little book of fairy tales, and an inexpensive trinket.
